Essential Job Summary:

Responsible for the monitoring and maintenance activities of a landfill gas collection system as directed by the Director of Landfill Engineering. Responsible for overseeing collection system optimization and troubleshooting, while adhering to site specific standard operating procedures set forth by host landfill. Strives to achieve high standards of safety and environmental integrity while maintaining maximum collection of landfill gas. Assists and coordinates work with the landfill leachate team.

Essential Job Functions: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.

  • Responsible for oversight of the wellfield leachate management system operations and maintenance including the extraction well pumping system, pipe welding, well head repairs, monitoring equipment, air pumps, electrical pumps, compressors, flares, etc.
  • Accountable for 3rd party contractor operation to make sure tuning and balancing is accurate to achieve NSPS so the company can maximize the current gas collection and control system.
  • Interpret analytical reports to assess quality control and production compliance of the gas collection system. Provide recommended adjustments to improve the efficiency of the collection system when deemed necessary. 
  • Reports on key performance indicators, field activities, and production performance to landfill leadership.
  • Partner with 3rd party gas contractor during construction activities including system expansions and modifications as required.
  • Provides leadership to technical teams and supports their development.
  • Assist the landfill leachate team with operation and maintenance of the leachate. collection system and identifying field issues such as breakouts, pump/sump problems, etc.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years in a landfill gas or construction environment.
  • Knowledge of wellfield gas collection system installation techniques and maintenance of wellfield systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory compliance and reporting.
  • Ability to read and interpret CAD generated wellfield drawings.
  • Strong verbal, written, computer communication and organization skills.
  • Ability to interact positively and effectively in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated mechanical and electrical knowledge and repair abilities.
  • Natural or landfill gas wellfield collection system construction experience.

Salary Range Minimum

USD $100,000.00/Yr.

Salary Range Maximum

USD $140,000.00/Yr.
