Overview: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented  Operations Controller to join our team in our Connecticut Market Area. As an Operations Controller, you will play a critical role in overseeing and optimizing our company's operational finance processes. You will be responsible for monitoring financial performance, analyzing operational data, implementing efficiency measures, and providing strategic recommendations to improve overall performance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, Waste Industry operations management, and analytical skills to drive operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Monitoring and Analysis:
    • Monitor and analyze financial performance metrics, including revenue, expenses, and profitability.
    • Identify areas of improvement and cost-saving opportunities through financial analysis.
    • Develop and maintain financial models to forecast and track operational performance.
  1. Operational Efficiency:
    • Assess current operational processes and procedures to identify areas for improvement.
    • Implement strategies to streamline operations, reduce waste, and increase efficiency.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and best practices.
  1. Budgeting and Forecasting:
    • Assist in the development of annual budgets and forecasts.
    • Track actual performance against budgeted targets and provide variance analysis.
    • Make recommendations for adjustments to ensure financial goals are met.
  1. Risk Management:
    • Identify operational risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
    • Implement internal controls to ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
    • Monitor and assess potential risks to business operations and develop contingency plans.
  1. Reporting and Communication:
    • Prepare regular reports and presentations on operational and financial performance for senior management.
    • Communicate key insights and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
    • Collaborate with finance, accounting, and other departments to ensure accurate reporting and alignment of goals.

 

Requirements and Qualifications:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Operations Management, or related field; CPA, MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ Years experience in the Waste Industry is strongly preferred.
  • Proven experience in operations management, financial analysis, or a related role.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and draw meaningful conclusions.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and analysis tools (e.g., Excel, ERP systems).
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in risk management and internal controls is a plus.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry regulations and compliance requirements.

Additional Information

IWS’s base pay actually offered takes into account a range of factors including, but not limited to, internal equity, the candidate’s geographic region,  job-related knowledge, skills, qualifications, and other business and organizational needs.

 

Bonus: This role is bonus eligible as part of the compensation package.

Salary Range Minimum

USD $125,000.00/Yr.

Salary Range Maximum

USD $175,000.00/Yr.
