Essential Job Summary:

This position will report to NYC’s Compliance and Reporting Manager and support the CWZ Compliance team in maintaining cross-functional compliance with NYC’s Local Law 199 & the Rules for the City of NY. The main responsibilities for this role will include record digitization and filing, data entry, meeting scheduling, notetaking, and project support. Much of this job will be rooted in attention to detail and requires keen skills in organization and time management.

 

This role does not require previous experience within the waste and recycling industry, however a successful candidate will be a professional, self-sufficient, and personable individual who works well with professionals across all functions, pays close attention to detail, and has the ability to handle sensitive information.

Essential Job Functions: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.

 

  • Digitize physical records and save files according to proper naming convention (dump receipts, DVIRs, certified mail letter distribution, etc.)
  • Enter data within DSNY’s carter portal to meet reporting requirements, examples including:
  • Instances of Non-Collection
  • Telematics Information
  • Non-CWZ Work
  • Additional Fees Imposed
  • Support waste surveying team with distribution of customer letters and subsequent filing of potential digital or mailed responses
  • Create, digitize, and file all sing-in sheets for CWZ training hosted by Compliance team
  • Draft confidential correspondence, edit documents, update records, and perform other administrative and secretarial duties
  • Support audit response and ad hoc reporting requests from the DSNY
  • Overarching team support with administrative or reporting requirements

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or 5 years of experience working in a corporate environment.
  • Highly organized with excellent attention to detail.
  • Comfortable with meeting strict deadlines imposed by regulatory agencies.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders from different departments.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously and a strong understanding of prioritization of deliverables.
  • Strong sense of accountability, integrity, and ability to handle critical responsibilities.
  • High level of professionalism and ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential information with utmost discretion.
  • Previous experience in successfully delivering results within any role will be considered.

Salary Range Minimum

USD $55,000.00/Yr.

Salary Range Maximum

USD $70,000.00/Yr.
