Essential Job Summary:

In this field-based role, the HR Partner reports to the VP or HR Director to partner with HR and the business to deliver HR Services.  You will deploy key HR initiatives, providing responsive employee support, and driving HR functional excellence and process continuous improvement.

  • Develop and implement strategies to reduce hourly turnover and absenteeism; partner with talent acquisition, talent management, and line management to fill vacancies and retain talent; with managers and supervisors, ensure new hires are on-boarded and quickly engaged into IWS.
  • Provide dedicated guidance and coaching to leaders and employees; support manager training and development with specific focus on employee advocacy/engagement, HR fundamentals and process training, positive employee relations, coaching and feedback, career development, and retention.
  • Partner, coach, and equip managers to address potential employee issues proactively to ensure that employee relations issues are properly identified, reported, and investigated.  Promptly handle such investigations to identify corrective solutions that will mitigate reoccurrence.  Make recommendations to the business on disciplinary actions as applicable.
  • Ensure policies, practices, processes, and guidelines are ethical and compliant with laws and regulations. Assist with drafting, implementation and interpretation of policies, processes, and guidelines. Continually educate clients on HR Shared Services.
  • Partner with the business to enable the completion of engagement, action plans – so that each manager in assigned area has shared their Engagement results and identified a “One Thing” action with their team. 
  • Serve as HR lead for labor relations in area of responsibility for prompt resolution of any grievances, and/or union contract strategy and negotiations. 
  • Assist or lead HR special projects or initiatives as needed, working across multiple client groups

 

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Total 5-7 years of experience with 3-5 years of focused and relevant HR Generalist / Business Partner experience with unionized workforce required, along with bachelor’s degree.
  • Bilingual Spanish speaking preferred.
  • Applies solid judgment ensuring integrity, compliance, & confidentiality to handle sensitive matters with confidentiality and diplomacy along with project management skills.
  • Passionate, employee advocate who wants to make a difference in the organization enabling employees to succeed and serving as an approachable, responsive resource; desires and enjoys employee-facing work with all levels of the organization.
  • Collaborative team player with a strong drive to create a positive work environment
  • Strong interest in innovative HR solutions, data analysis, and process improvement
  • Strong problem-solving skills: ability to make independent, data-driven decisions, manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Sound knowledge of local labor laws and government requirements
  • Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Suite and HRIS tools; PHR/SPHR certification a plus
  • Able to travel to IWS sites within Market Area weekly

Salary Range Minimum

USD $110,000.00/Yr.

Salary Range Maximum

USD $140,000.00/Yr.
